This recipe is from my Grandma Flora Tonks
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
1 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 t. salt
1 t. soda
3 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, beat well. Add sifted "dry" ingredients. Then add oatmeal and nuts. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
